[dc]Y[/dc]es, words that sound like other words bring me endless enjoyment.

However, it appears in the year 2112 they are frowned upon. But, who wouldn’t want a ‘Whale look who’s here!’ welcome mat? And…is that COLOR?!

The original strip was just the first two panels, but then I became inspired just by mentally adding a hundred years. “What would people think about puns in 2112? WAIT! A Rush reference! Comedic gold!”

Stephanie felt otherwise: “Congratulations, you have made a comic only six people will understand.” Oh well. I blame my love for obscure pop-culture references on Mystery Science Theater 3000.They were the kings of that kind of stuff.

I originally drew the 2112 guy (who is suppose to be naked by the way) holding a guitar. But, I changed my made and decided to have him holding a stupid welcome mat.

Drawing Bender and Leela from Futurama was fun, but a challenge. A good challenge though, as it forced me to try and draw ‘on model’ (although my end results are anything but).
