Behind the Scenes Comic: Portion Control
[dc]I[/dc] need to get back to having Behind the Scenes blog posts more often. So, here’s my first in too long–on last week’s comic, Portion Control. As I said, my original plan for the back-to-back eyeball shots was to do the inverse effect by hand. That didn’t happen. I ended up doing it in Photoshop.
Here’s a shot of how far I got.
As you can see, I did my best to match the look/layout of the first eyeball. But, sometimes the easier solution (in this case, the Inverse effect in Photoshop) is the best.
Here are the panels in the completed comic.
You can also see that when it comes to my blue lines, I’m pretty sloppy. That’s just my style: my pencil is all over the place, and is probably why I have a difficult time drawing with a mechanical pencil. Yep, I draw with a basic pencil (Prismacolor Col-Erase 20060, Indigo Blue) I buy for about $1 each at Grand Art Supply in downtown Lansing. I do use a mechanical pencil to draw lettering lines with my Ames Lettering Guide though (using a slightly different shade of blue lead).
More Behind the Scenes stuff soon, as I’m trying to take photos of unfinished pages and such. I might throw some up on the Clattertron Facebook page too.
