Friday Six is Ready For Dream Time, Mr. Bubbles
[dc]I[/dc]s Winter over yet? Each gray, cold, day blurs into the next, leaving me to wonder if I will see another dawn. The real kind, with the sun and light. Not another Red Dawn remake, which I still have yet to see (even though I doubt it can compare to the sheer ‘8os-ness of the original). Time for a list of six links, thoughts, and a weekly wrap up.
[ ] Draw Something! Wes Molebash (Insert Image) with a great post: 5 Books Every Cartoonist Should Read. I picked up Action! Cartooning from the library and ordered The Character Mentor. I will buy Action Cartooning—I dig the book, and enjoy the focus on movement, action, and such. I always want to improve as a cartoonist, and I do find books help (combined with practice, of course), because there are times it is easier to for someone to say “draw this.”
[ ] I’m Ready For Dream Time, Mr. Bubbles: Nearly finished with the original BioShock on my PlayStation 3. Sure, I’m late to the BioShock arena, but man, what a game. I love the world, the look, and the story. BioShock is like if Terry Gilliam (Brazil, 12 Monkeys) made a video game.
[ ] Geek Thing of the Week: This Bioshock Welcome to Rapture T-Shirt
Speaking of BioShock.
[ ] Hold On: R. Stevens with another brilliant Diesel Sweeties strip, featuring everyone’s favorite talking computer: Uncle Grandpa. (Grown up language warning)
[ ] Make a Wish! I told Stephanie the other day it was my half-birthday (stampeding my way to 33, apparently), and she brought me home half of an apple pie. Aw jeez.
[ ] Great Scott! The other night, I learned Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall) guest starred on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager (as a drunk alien). Thanks to Jon Rosenberg (Scenes From a Multiverse, Goats) for Tweeting the info.
@jonrosenberg I just Googled 'Scott Thompson star trek' faster than I ever Googled anything before. Wow!

Star Trek Voyager is on Netflix at the moment, so I will watch this episode as soon as possible.
[ ] Let’s Wrap (Up):
- Monday’s comic combined my love of fortune cookies and Dune. Based on a real fortune I got a couple of weeks ago.
- The MSU Comics Forum is next month, and I helped prep the posters for mailing. The poster artist? Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo).
- Our cats Rags and Nigel are buddies now. The only thing Rags loves more than Nigel is Stephanie’s bag of yarn.
- Free shipping through Sunday in my Society6 store.
