[dc]T[/dc]he mother of all days is this weekend: Free Comic Book Day! Once again, you can see me at Summit Comics & Games this Saturday as part of the store’s annual Free Comic Book Day event.
What is Free Comic Book Day?
Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May each year, and on this day participating comic book shops give away brand new comics. These comics are made specifically for Free Comic Book Day too, so they are usually one-off stories or something special.
The idea behind giving away comics once a year is to bring people to comic book stores who might not normally go, including younger readers. Most comic book stores use the day to feature sales on other comic books or special promotions as well.
Where is Summit Comics & Games?
Downtown Lansing, Michigan on Washington Square (216 S. Washington Sq. #B), right by Kelly’s and Zoup. You might have to park a bit away and walk over (there is free parking on the weekends).
When Does the Free Comic Book Day Action Start?
8:00 AM. Yes, in the morning. Pretty early on a Saturday for some, but heck that’s sleeping in for me. If you want first crack at the exclusive comics, you might want to show up sooner than later. The event comes to an end at 5:00 PM
When is My Artist Signing?
I am appearing at Summit Comics & Games’ Free Comic Book Day event at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Other artists will be in the store, in different shifts, all day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
What Will I Have For Sale at the Free Comic Book Day Event?
- My new coloring book!
- The last remaining copies of last year’s coloring book.
- Cartoon prints.
- Watercolor cartoons.
- My 2016 Hourly Comics collection.
- Random Cartoon Commissions.
- And the always popular stickers and buttons.
Please come see me at Summit Comics & Games this Saturday, 2:00 PM to 5:00 if you can.
