My convention season continues picking up, as this Saturday brings the Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con (CMPLCC). This is my second event for April, and it makes two Saturdays in a row. It’s also my second of five events in six weeks.

HAHAHAHA.

Gulp.

Yeah, May’s gonna be crazy. I have Free Comic Book Day (next weekend!), the East Lansing Art Festival, and then Cherry Capital Comic Con. I only have one weekend off in May, and thankfully it’s the weekend before the East Lansing Art Festival.

ANYWAY! Back to this weekend.

Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con: Where and When

This year’s Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con is the same place as last year. It’s in the CMPL branch located at 40900 Romeo Plank Road in Clinton Township.

The fun begins this Saturday, April 28, at 10 AM. However, it looks like Artist Alley doesn’t officially start until 12 PM. I’ll definitely be around though (I’ll probably get there at 10 to set up, if not sooner).

There is a lot to check out, especially for young comic and pop culture fans. This is definitely more of a kid and family friendly show than other comic cons.

Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con: Tickets

Good news! You don’t have to worry about getting tickets, because the CMPLCC is FREE to attend! Just show up and start having fun! Do bring money though, because in addition to Artist Alley, there are food trucks and other fun things which require money. Most of the events are free though.

One of the food trucks only sells grilled cheese sandwiches and another sells donuts, so I think I know what I’m having for lunch.

What Am I Selling?

My display won’t be as extensive as last week’s at the April Pop Up, so it will be my usual comic con arrangement. I might bring some framed original watercolor cartoons, but with the East Lansing Art Festival rapidly approaching, I might decide to leave that stock at home.

Regardless, I have a new batch of fun cartoony buttons made for me by Pinback Buttons here in Lansing. And there were a hot seller last Saturday!

There will be some new prints too, along with Foxes & Boxes mini-comics, and my usual Mash Up Cartoons.

I had a great time at the Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con last year, even though I was the only comic maker there. My gut tells me this year’s comic con will be even bigger, and I did well enough last year to come back. I don’t get to too many shows on the East side of the state (especially since I can’t make Motor City Comic Con this year), so I’m glad I have this appearance.

Please come see me at the Clinton Macomb Public Library Comic Con this Saturday, April 28!
