My busy week continues with Capital City Comic Con on Saturday (you can also see me Friday night at The Grid in Old Town for Arts Night Out). I’m excited to be back for another Capital City Comic Con, my fourth.
Where and When is Capital City Comic Con?
Capital City Comic Con is on Saturday, September 8. Doors open at 10 AM and the show goes until 6 PM. All of the comic goodness is inside the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University (534 Birch Rd, East Lansing, Michigan 48824).
This is a one-day show and tickets are $15. Children 7 and under are free.
Some big news for this year: everything will be on the main concourse. That’s right, all of the vendors and artists will be on the concourse of the Breslin Center. In years past, we were all on the main floor of the arena. I’m curious to see how this goes, as it is a unique experience. The upside is guests can just walk in a circle and see everything. I like that idea. I’ve exhibited at bigger shows where someone could spend all day seeing things and not come anywhere near the artists.
I like this “loop” idea which turns Capital City Comic Con into a fun version of a NASCAR race.
What’s Next?
Capital City Comic Con marks my last “comic” focused show of the year, at least at the moment. However, I’m far from done making appearances. You can find me next at the Art & Antique Sale – Classic Car Cruise In on September 16 in Old Town at the Turner-Dodge house. The fun bit about event is my wife, Steph Joy Hogan, and I are sharing a tent space. We’ve done shows together before (East Lansing Art Festival, Arts Night Out, Artfeast) but never combined our powers in a single space.
As I told Steph, “You can make everything look nice, and I’ll do the heavy lifting.”
Please come out to Capital City Comic Con this Saturday!
