Poor Gravy, he can’t catch a break.

Great news!

I’m working on a Foxes & Boxes book, and I was able to order a proof copy last week. This means, the book is ready for print and this lets me see how everything turned out. There’s going to be some changes to the cover, minor changes that are just text related. But, unless there’s something majorly wrong, everything should be good to go.

Trust me, this project has been quite the undertaking. Huge thanks to pals Jay Jacot and Ryan Claytor for all of their help making this book happen.

The plan is to have the book go live in May. I’m self-publishing the book via Kindle Direct Publishing, so this means it will be available for sale online right away. I will have copies with me at Cherry Capital Comic Con for sale, and all of my other comic events this season (which at the moment are Really Cool Comic Con and Get Geek’d Expo).

Because of the rules, I can’t sell these books at any of my upcoming art festival appearances (East Lansing Art Festival and West Shore Art Fair for now). But like I said: the Foxes & Boxes comic collection will be available online via Amazon, and I’m planning on selling signed copies via Etsy. I will make a digital Kindle version too, but the physical book is the Number One priority right now.

The book collects the first 98 Foxes & Boxes comics. That may seem like a weird number, but there’s a few reasons behind my choice. First, color printing is expensive. I wanted to do 100+ pages, but it was cost prohibitive, unless I went with a real printer and ordered a run of a few thousand copies (which I can’t do right now). Second, page 98 is a good stopping point for the volume one book.

Keep an eye out for Foxes & Boxes Volume One: No Refunds! this May.

Will there be a Volume Two? Yes, eventually. Maybe next year, but we’ll see how things go.
