First, a thank you to comic buddy Jay Jacot for the color work in the updated Foxes & Boxes logo (which was designed by Steve Jencks). The logo comes from the cover of the Foxes & Boxes book, and Jay was kind enough to cut the logo out for me to use elsewhere (without even me asking to, because that’s the cool dude he is).

You might notice this week’s page and the rest going forward look a bit different, layout wise. After assembling the Foxes & Boxes book, I learned a lot about prepping a comic for print. I did not have a book in mind when I started this comic, not at all. So, going forward, with future books (hopefully) to come, I started drawing the new comics at the size they would need to be for another 6″ x 9″ book to save myself a bit of work down the road. I’m also doing some other things to make the next book easier, like coloring in CMYK to start, making sure my blacks are 100% black, and not using anti-aliasing for text or line art (again, thank you to Jay Jacot and Ryan Claytor for the crash course in that regard).

If you made it out to Arts Night Out on Friday, thank you! My next appearance is East Lansing Art Festival, May 18-19. Note that I can’t sell copies of the Foxes & Boxes book there, only original art (you can grab one on Amazon any time though).

After the East Lansing Art Festival, I’m heading to Traverse City, Michigan for Cherry Capital Comic Con. I will have Foxes & Boxes books there for sale (and other fun stuff)!
