[dc]E[/dc]ver been asked a strange question in a job interview? A friend posted a link to an article on this subject, and inspiration paid me a visit. The character here, Mortus, was a regular in my first attempt at a webcomic many years ago (he was a politician in the other comic). I felt he fit the dialogue here, so I brought him back.
Back in my livejournal days!
Mortus as he was in the ‘old days.’ Gasp, color?! Glad I dumped the photo background look, because I usually spent more time looking for a good image than drawing the actual comic.
[[A woman sits at a desk in job interview, leans back and asks a question]]
Interviewer: If you could be a tree, which would you be?
[[Mortus answers from slightly off panel]]
Mortus: None.
[[A close up of Mortus, a cloaked, hooded figure with horns. He holds up a fist]]
Mortus: I would be the fire which burns the forest to cinder and ash.
[[A wide shot of the office. The interviewer stares at Mortus. Mortus stares back.]]
[[A coffee shop, with Mortus behind the counter. He wears a Manager badge. Trav Fedora studies the menu. No Filter Fox, impatient, stands behind Trav Fedora pounding his fist.]]
Trav Fedora: How’s the dark roast?
Mortus: Darker than a lost soul on a moonless night.
Hovertext: Fair trade? Yes, in the sense the growers were allowed to keep their lives in exchange for their coffee beans.
