The New Star Wars Trailer
[dc]T[/dc]he big news, to some anyway, over the weekend was the release of the first teaser trailer of the upcoming Star Wars sequel, The Force Awakens.
I already had a comic planned for today, but I decided to Be Topical™ and crank out a comic about the Star Wars trailer right away. Because the comics after the one I planned for today are Christmas related, I couldn’t push those back. So, today’s original comic runs on January 5th.
I made a similar topical comic when Disney purchased LucasFilm (and Star Wars) roughly two years ago. I also typed up a blog post on my thoughts about J. J. Abrams directing this Star Wars sequel upon hearing the news.
My thoughts on the Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens trailer? It did exactly what a teaser trailer should do: tease. All we got were flashes of characters and scenes, out of context.
No plot. No explanation. Brilliantly executed (I can’t stand trailers which show the whole film).
I liked what I saw in the new Star Wars teaser trailer. I can’t wait to see more.
As I said on Twitter after watching the trailer on Friday morning:
I don't know if it was my lack of sleep or just nostalgia, but that Star Wars teaser gave me some strong feels.
