This weekend brings a double-shot of events: Friday night, I’m at The Grid in Old Town for Arts Night Out. Saturday, I’m in East Lansing for Capital City Comic Con.
Like Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy says: Don’t panic.
I’ll have more on Capital City Comic Con in another post. For now, let’s dig into the goods about Arts Night Out at The Grid, an arcade bar in Old Town.
What is Arts Night Out?
From the Arts Night Out website:
“Presented by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Arts Night Out was launched in May 2016 and is a bi-monthly event to expand and experience urban space and creativity in unexpected ways.”
To sum up: Arts Night Out gets local artists into local fun spots to sell (or at least showcase) their art. It’s a fun, great program which Steph and I enjoy even when we aren’t exhibiting our own work.
When and Where is Arts Night Out?
You might remember Arts Night Out, because I was just at another one recently. This time, the fun moves back to Old Town. Arts Night Out is this Friday, Sept. 7 in Old Town, 5 PM to 8 PM.
Bring your quarters and come find me at The Grid, which is a bar filled with arcade games and pinball machines. I felt my cartoony work would be a good match for place stuffed with video game characters. You can find The Grid at 226 E. Grand River Ave. Lansing, Michigan 48906.
I’ll be up in the loft of The Grid, so you will have to come find me. Don’t worry, The Grid isn’t super huge, and there’s only one set of stairs. You can’t miss me, unless you are too busy playing Dig Dug.
I will have original art and prints for sale, along with buttons and stickers. Come on out! It will be a great time.
