Foxes & Boxes – 55
I can’t drive 55, but I can draw 55 (comics). I blinked and now Foxes & Boxes is up to 55 pages! Time flies, especially this last year. I should probably write some sort of One Year Later blog post, or something. Or just do it here! Sure!
Behind the Scenes: see my original drawing for this comic and more on Patreon
Am I still enjoying Foxes & Boxes a year later? Yes. I’m glad I took the chance on this crazy story. I think I’m finally getting used to this long form thing. Or starting to, maybe. I definitely miss making one-shot gag comics at times. I might start doing those here and there and post them to Patreon for patrons (then share them elsewhere later). We’ll see. I need to get through Inktober first. So far, so good!
I’m hoping Inktober will get me in the habit of drawing silly things every morning (so far so good) and I will keep going.
Inktober ,and wanting to draw my cartoons in the morning, forced me to shake up my routines. All for the better too. I give a lot of credit to the book Growing Gills by Jessica Abel for helping me with this.
Am I perfect with my time tracking? No. But, I do what I can (and it’s only for two weeks). I’m trying and that’s most important step.
I highly recommend Growing Gills to all of my creative pals, or for those wanting to take a stab at their own creative projects. Heck, it’s good just for managing your job/life balance in general too.
