Inktober 11th – Say Cheese

by Daniel J. Hogan on October 11, 2014 at 12:01 am

[dc]I[/dc] saw The Boxtrolls today, and the plot is very cheese heavy. So, I decided to draw some cheese. I like cheese. I loved The Boxtrolls by the way. Cute story, and gorgeous stop-motion animation.

Cheeeeese.

Sketched with, like all of these so far, a Staedtler HB pencil¹ and inked with my Faber-Castell PITT pen set.

Inktober 10th – Dark and Stormy

[dc]I[/dc] decided to continue yesterday’s theme of ‘creatures coming out of things.’ Because, WHY NOT. This was going to be another tentacle, but then I added a face, and it was all down hill.

Inktober 9th – Junk Mail

[dc]F[/dc]or today’s Inktober sketch, I once again looked to Phil McAndrew’s list of 400 Things For You to Draw. The suggestion I chose was 72: tentacles coming out of containers, bags, windows, etc. You don’t have to tell me twice.

Return to sender.

This is my favorite one so far this month. These are getting better since I decided not to worry about only using one type of pen for the whole thing.

PS – McAndrew offers a monthly tiny painting club. Give it a look.

Inktober 8th – Bad Meatloaf

by Daniel J. Hogan on October 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm

[dc]I[/dc] enjoy a good meatloaf. I actually made meatloaf this morning, using my trusty slow cooker and a recipe from one of the Fix-It and Forget-It cook books.

Of course, as it often happens, my mind WANDERED a bit when it came to today’s drawing.

That’s not nice.

My meatloaf turned out just fine, but what if it had not?

¹ I picked one up For the Heck Of It recently and it usurped my trusty SumoGrip 0.5mm with 2H lead as my go-to sketching pencil.
