Amazon Enigmas: Dog Halloween Costumes 2014

[dc]I[/dc]t is that time of year again. Time to embarrass our four-legged friends by shoving their shaking, frightened bodies into a Halloween costume and polluting Instagram and Facebook with photos of the result.

If you are still in need of a costume for your dog (or large cat perhaps), here’s a list of dog costumes I found on Amazon. Enjoy. Or don’t. Well, you might, but your dog probably won’t. Except for that crazy one down the block. You know who.

A Shell of a Costume

Is your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle group costume a turtle short? You are in luck, because there is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle dog costume. I mean, it isn’t much different from a human dressing up as a mutated turtle. Don’t want your dog to go as the be-purpled Donny? The whole TMNT gang is available in dog size: sword-o, orange dude, and angry face.

You’re Despicable

If mutant turtles aren’t your thing, but you enjoy weird tiny people, consider this Despicable Me Minion dog costume. Now, your pooch can help with all those crazy plans you have: stealing the pyramids, shrinking the moon, registering to vote, etc.

Leg It

Legs for days. Image via Amazon.

Do you ever look at your dog and think, “Four legs just ain’t enough”? There’s a costume for your trouble: this Grr-antula Dog Halloween costume. Finally, a dog with 12 legs, just as the Elder Gods asleep in their watery homes intended.

Inktober 7th – Spooky House

by Daniel J. Hogan on October 7, 2014 at 12:01 am

[dc]I[/dc]nspiration comes, and it goes. Heck, I’ll take all the help I can get when it comes to What to Draw? question. Lucky for me (and you all), cartoonist Phil McAndrew put together a list of 400 Things For You to Draw.

For today’s drawing, I went with the ‘spooky houses.’ suggestion.

Spooooky.

I started following McAndrew on Twitter a few months ago, and really like his cartooning style–it is right in my wheel house, as they say.  His book, Crying in Front of Your Dog and Other Stories looks like a fun read too.

Like yesterday’s drawing, this one was drawing with my Faber-Castell PITT pen set. Unlike my other drawings to date, I used couple different pens instead of only one.

All my Inktober posts are here.

Inktober 6th – Twin Peaks

[dc]I[/dc]nktober keeps on going, and I keep on inking. I may not get these up on the day I draw them, but I am drawing them each day. Posting the scan/photo online isn’t a high priority. They’ll get posted here when I have time.

Yes, have some.

The news of Twin Peaks returning to Showtime inspired today’s drawing. Twin Peaks is one of my favorite TV shows, ever. I’m tempted to buy the new fancy Blu-Ray set.

I drew this baby with my Faber-Castell PITT pen set, specifically the M pen. I like this set a lot, as it offers a good selection of different sizes, and pens are of great quality–and more importantly, they are a bit longer than Micron pens, which makes them easier for me to hold.

All my Inktober posts are here.

Intober 5th – HB (Sharpie Chisel Tip)

[dc]M[/dc]y Inktober drawing for October 5th, 2014.

HB inktober

Oh, HB.

That’s good ol’ HB, with a cigar there. I’m using Inktober as an excuse to use as many different pens and markers as I can (at least for now) and I decided to give Steph’s trusty Sharpie Chisel Tip a go (she uses it to leave me notes on her giant Post-It Note Pad).

I probably won’t use this Sharpie for another drawing, at least not for any fine detail bits (or lettering).
